Wilma Joyce Hathaway, 81, of Poplar Bluff, died Sunday, May 10, 2015 at Westwood Hills Healthcare Center, in Poplar Bluff.
Mrs. Hathaway was born Oct. 20, 1933, in Gideon, Mo. to the late William and Freda (Mead) Fletcher. She was a member of South Poplar Bluff General Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Quilting Club and was a homemaker. Mrs. Hathaway enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and quilting.
On Aug. 24, 1950, she was married to Elvis Ward. He preceded her in death. On Dec. 10, 1965, she was married to Clifton Sells. He preceded her in death. On March 15, 1992, she was married to Jimmie Marcus Hathaway, who preceded her in death as well.
Survivors include five children: Linda Bradley and William "Bill" Bruce (Inge) Ward both of Poplar Bluff, Larry Sells of Jackson, Tenn., Rose Noonan of Dixon, Mo. and Brady Hathaway of Florida; 13 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
A daughter, Gloria Stricklin also preceded Mrs. Hathaway in death.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral chapel with Rev. Keith Luke officiating. Burial will be at Ashcraft Cemetery in Butler County.
