Wilma Faye South, 77, of Poplar Bluff, Mo, passed away Thursday, May 29, 2014, at Westwood Hills Care Center.
Mrs. South was born July 15, 1936 in Kennett, MO, to the late Zema Willie and Cordia Worthington Kendrick.
On March 7, 1956, she and John South were married in Poplar Bluff. He preceded her in death on September 24, 2012.
Mrs. South was a member of Temple Baptist Church, and in her earlier years worked at Florsheim Shoes and Gossard Garment. She enjoyed spending time with her family, doing crafts and sewing and spent lots of time reading books and devotionals.
Survivors include her three sons: Joseph Quentin South of Venice, FL, Thomas Christopher South, (Christine) of Rock Hill, SC, and Jeffrey Alan South (Sandy) of Broken Arrow, OK; five grandchildren: Joshua, Aaron, Sarah, and Caleb South, and Camille Bohnert; five brothers: John S. Kendrick, of Flint MI, Willie Ray Kendrick, of Virginia Beach, VA, Jimmie Kendrick, of Cheney, KS, Alton Kendrick, of Wentzville, MO, and Mack Kendrick of Poplar Bluff; and a sister, Sandra Franklin, of Hollywood, MD.
Two sisters; Essie T. McMahon, and Margaret Moore, also preceded her in death.
Visitation will be from 6 ? 8 p.m., Monday, at Cotrell Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m., Tuesday at the chapel, with Rev. Steve Patterson and Rev. Buck Cruse officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
