Winiona Payton

Winiona W. ""Nona"" Payton, 81, of Poplar Bluff, died Sunday, Dec. 24, 2006 at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Payton was born March 7, 1925, in Poplar Bluff. She was a member of Collins Chapel Church and had retired in 1987, as a RN.

On Aug. 12, 1950, she married Melvin Lloyd Payton, in Poplar Bluff. He survives.

Survivors include her daughter, Gina Woollums, of Ozark, Mo.; two sisters, Doris Ridall, of Baltimore, Md. and Judy Reeder, of Calif.; three brothers, Howard Garrett, of Springfield, Sherman Garrett, of Reynoldsburg, Ohio and Floyd Garrett, of St. Louis.

The visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Wednesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel, in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, in the funeral chapel, with the Rev. Lester Clayton officiating. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, in Poplar Bluff.
