Zella Marie (Boyer) Ashby

Zella Marie Ashby, 94, of Poplar Bluff, died Thursday, July 2, 2015 at Oakdale Care Center.

Mrs. Ashby, daughter of the late. Leonard and Laura (Stanley) Boyer, was born Oct. 4, 1920 in Chaonia, Mo. She was of the Protestant faith, and was a homemaker.
Mrs. Ashby was a member of NARVE, Amvets Post 29, and the VFW Lady's Auxiliary.

She was married to Clyde Ashby, who preceded her in death on June 16, 1987.

Survivors include a daughter, Sandra (Jim) Joiner of Poplar Bluff; a son, Paul (Marie) Ashby, of Hillsboro; five grandchildren: Dawn (Gary) Himes of Frisco, TX, Jamie (Tracie) Joiner of West Plains, Chris (Kerri) Joiner of Poplar Bluff, Paula (Butch) Grissom of Barnhart and Greg Ashby of Arnold; 10 great-grandchildren: Stephanie Joiner, Sarah Joiner, Andrea Joiner, Bradley Himes, Emily Joiner, Julian Himes, Dagan Joiner, Zachary Joiner, Kelly Rueter and Nick Grissom; and five great-great grandchildren: Abby, Ashley, Jill, Adam and Jack.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Ashby was also preceded in death by a son, Clyde Ashby, Jr., a sister, Dorothy Dillin and two brothers, Lloyd Boyer and Francis Boyer.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Monday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. A graveside service will follow at 11 a.m. in the Woodlawn section of the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery with Rev. Jim Schremp officiating,
