Obituary

Oliver Michael ‘Mike’ Priest, 74, of Wappapello, Missouri, passed away Friday, April 7, 2023, at his home.

Mike, the son of Jim and Ailene (Darrington) Priest, was born August 22, 1948, in St. Louis, Missouri. He retired after many years as a Riverboat Chief Engineer. Mike enjoyed being on the water, fishing and dove hunting, but his overall favorite pastime was being with his family.

Survivors include his son, Michael Brett Priest and beloved daughter-in-law Joanna Priest of Wappapello; five grandchildren, Nymoweigh Sullivan, Mough Priest, Brannaugh Priest of Oklahoma, and Dean Priest and Savannah Priest of Wappapello; three great-grandchildren; and a brother, Jim Priest.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Chuck Priest, Gene Priest, and Joe Priest; and a sister Betty Priest.

An inurnment of ashes is scheduled at 2 pm Friday, April 21, 2023, at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri, with full military honors.
