Travis Phillips Obituary

Travis Farrell Phillips, 74, of Ellsinore, MO passed away on November 14, 2023, at his home in Ellsinore, Missouri.

Travis was born on June 25, 1949, to Vondus and Willie (Raffety) Phillips in Monette, Arkansas. He married Sara Garcia on April 28, 1972, in Los Angeles County, California.

Travis was a member of the United States Army and served during the Vietnam War. He was a Christian, and of the Baptist faith. Travis was a long-time member of the Three Rivers Shrine Club, where he was their former President and Ambassador. He was very hard working, honest, and compassionate. He always provided for his family and made sure to teach them the importance of integrity and values. Travis and Sara spent much of their time traveling and exploring new places. He also spent a lot of time hunting, fishing, camping, riding four wheelers and going to the river. Travis was a self-proclaimed BBQ master and liked to grill. He was an animal lover and enjoyed his pets over the years. Travis was well respected and liked within the local communities. He will truly be missed by many.

Travis is survived by his wife of over 51 years, Sara Phillips; son, Danny Phillips; two daughters, Marie (Matthew) Sullivan and Malissa (Kinzie) Maxfield; sister, Saundra Bunting; brother, Vondus "Bo" Phillips; four grandchildren, Stella, Scarlett, Bernadette, and Violet; along with numerous extended family members and friends.

Travis was preceded in death by his parents.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Shriners Children's Hospital.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 20, 2023, from 11:00am-12:00pm at Cotrell Willow Ridge Funeral & Cremation Services. Funeral service will follow beginning at noon with Chaplain Jamie Jones officiating. Burial will take place at the Missouri State Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with full military honors present.
